Your Questions
Have questions about our products, available materials or the installation process? Here are answers to the most frequently asked questions.
Questions About Materials
What's the difference between PVC, hybrid and wood windows?
PVC is economical, insulating and requires almost no maintenance. Hybrid combines an aluminum frame on the outside and PVC on the inside for a more upscale look with good durability. Wood offers a warm aesthetic but requires more maintenance. Our advisors can help you choose based on your budget and needs.
Questions About Replacement
How do I know if my windows need to be replaced?
Watch for these signs: drafts even when the window is closed, condensation between the two panes, difficulty opening or closing, damaged or rotting frames, and energy bills increasing for no reason. Generally, windows last between 15 and 25 years depending on the material and maintenance.
Can windows be installed in winter?
Yes. Winter window installation is possible and done regularly in Quebec. Our installers work quickly to minimize heat loss during replacement. Contact us to learn more about the process.
Questions About Maintenance
How do I maintain my PVC windows?
Cleaning with soapy water and a soft cloth is enough. Avoid abrasive products, chlorine and acetone. Lubricate the mechanisms (hinges, locks) once a year with a silicone-based lubricant. Check the sealant around the frames and replace it as needed.
Is it normal to have condensation in my windows?
A bit of condensation on the glass in winter is normal, especially after a shower or cooking. However, if condensation appears between the two panes (inside the sealed unit), it's a sign the seal is broken and the window needs to be replaced.
